He coordinates for the Romanian authority the type approval activities for road vehicles, including the deployment of the EU regulatory acts and UN Regulations at the national level. He is in charge of issuing the EU and UN type approval certificates.

Between 2007 and 2011, he was the head of the vehicle testing Department of the Romanian Automotive Register, the technical service designated for performing the approval official tests according to EU and UN technical requirements.

Prior to vehicle approvals activity, he was a research and development engineer for a Romanian vehicles manufacturer.

In present, he is involved in the national implementation of the processes and procedures of the new EU vehicle type approval frame Regulation. Represents RAR and Romania in the UNECE Forum for harmonization of vehicle regulation -WP29 and in the EC Forum for Exchange of Information on Enforcement. The practical issues raised by the application of international legislation for vehicle safety certification, are part of his expertise.

He graduated the Automotive engineering section of the Transport Faculty at the Bucharest Polytechnic University. He is a member of SIAR – FISITA, has published articles in the areas of vehicle safety and automated driving and he participated with presentations in a large number of conferences and workshops focused on the vehicle legislation field.
